Artist's Statement
I have been drawn to the creative path of calligraphy for two primary reasons.  First, I find each work of art has its own distinctive beauty.  Second, I feel that calligraphy reflects certain realities of life.  When ink hits paper, the result can evoke unexpected effects than originally anticipated - sometimes more beauty, sometimes less beauty.
 
Within my calligraphic art is a collection of my passion, emotion, and sentiment.  It provides space for me to collaborate the old with the new — a process that creates and innovates while preserving the integrity of the original forms. Calligraphy has become an important part of my life, allowing me to enjoy my own time and space. 
 
It is my wish that these works are appreciated as “figurative calligraphy,” which should be seen as a whole rather than merely read.
